1. The “Renata Tebaldi” International Singing Competition Republic of San Marino 2009 is open to candidates/singers of all nationalities born between 1 January 1974 and 20 September 1991.
The competition is not open to previous winners (first, second and third places)
2. Together with the enrolment form, the candidate must also present:
a) an original copy or photocopy of a document certifying nationality;
b) two recent photographs (about 15 cm x 20 cm);
c) a short CV showing details of education and any professional activities (Italian or
English). The candidate shall also certify any awards (first, second, third) obtained in
previous international competitions;
d) the programme to be presented (see Enrolment Form), specifying any participation in the Italian Opera Prize and/or Premio Barocco and/or Lieder and Songs Prize;
e) copy of the music to be performed by the candidate during the elimination phase;
(remembering to bring along the scores for the following phases).
f) receipt of payment of euro 125 as Competition enrolment fee.

3. The expiry date for enrolment is 15 July 2009. Candidates will receive confirmation of enrolment in the competition by 31 August 2009.
4. The competition will be staged in September 2009 (16-27) and will be split into three stages:
Preliminaries (F1) - Semi-Finals (F2) – Finals (F3). The Winners’ Concert will take place on 26
and 27 September 2009.
5. Each performance will involve a recital with piano accompaniment, while the winners’ concert, during which the prizes will be awarded by the international panel of judges, will be accompanied by the Orchestra Camerata del Titano of San Marino, conductor Mº Eugène Kohn.
6. The candidates will be asked to perform the compositions from memory (except the arias taken from Masses and Oratorio), in the original language and key (excepting Lieder or Songs
traditionally conveyed for the various voices) without interruption and within the programme
duration time.
7. Those who intend participating in the Barocco Prize should indicate this on the enrolment form. The 10 pieces presented in the semi-final and final stages (F2 and F3) must include at least 2
compositions belonging to the 1600-1750 period. Moreover, the Barocco Prize candidate must
indicate a further three compositions (free programme – F4) of the same period to be performed
in 15 minutes extra time in a special audition session.
8. Those who intend participating in the Lieder and Songs Prize should indicate this on the
enrolment form. The 10 pieces presented in the semi-final and Final stages (F2 and F3) must
include an oratorio or concert Air not in Italian or Latin. Moreover the Lieder & Songs Prize
candidate must indicate another four compositions (F5), at least two of which in German, to be
performed in 15 minutes extra time in a special audition session.
9. Those who intend participating in the Italian Opera Prize should indicate this on the enrolment form. Of the 6 Opera airs presented in the three stages of the Competition by the Candidate (F1, F2 and F3), at least 4 must be taken from Operas by Italian composers during the period 1900-1924
10. The panel of judges will be international and will decide to whom to award the prizes according to its own undisputable judgement. If necessary, it shall be free not to award the First Prize.
11. The Competition shall be open to the public starting from the Semi-Final.
