Preliminary Test (F1)
Auditorium Palazzo dei Congressi, 16 – 19 September 2009.

Performance with Piano accompaniment of a programme lasting not more
than 15 minutes.
Performances:
a) An Opera Air*;
b) An Oratorio Air**;
c) A Lied or Song****

Semi-final test (F2)
Auditorium Palazzo dei Congressi, 22 – 23 September 2009

Performance with Piano accompaniment of a programme lasting not more
than 30 minutes (maximum 24 candidates).
Performances:
a) Two Opera Airs*;
b) Concert Air*** or Oratorio Air**;
c) Three German lieder or songs****

Final test (F3)
Auditorium Palazzo dei Congressi, 24 September 2009.

Performance with Piano accompaniment of a programme lasting not more
than 30 minutes (maximum 12 candidates).
Performances:
a) Three Opera Airs*;
b) A Concert Air*** or Oratorio Air**;

Extra Time Barocco Prize (F4)
Auditorium Palazzo dei Congressi, 24 or 25 September 2009
(date to be determined by the Chairperson of the Commission).

In the event of the Commission deciding there are candidates suitable for the Barocco
Prize, performance with piano accompaniment of a specific programme lasting no more
that 15 minutes. Accepted for participation in the Extra-Time test will be the best in
category (max. 3 candidates) from the semi-final and final.

Extra Time Lieder & Songs (F5)
Auditorium Palazzo dei Congressi, 24 or 25 September 2009
(date to be determined by the Chairperson of the Commission).

In the event of the Commission deciding there are candidates suitable for the Lieder &
Songs Prize, performance with piano accompaniment of a specific programme lasting
no more that 15 minutes. Accepted for participation in the Extra-Time test will be the best
in category (max. 3 candidates) from the semi-final and final.

Winners' Concert
Auditorium Palazzo dei Congressi 26 and 27 September 2009

The concert programme will be determined by the commission of judges in agreement
with the Artistic Direction of the Competition and the single candidate by selecting
from among the music performances of the candidate during the semi-final and final
stage (F2 and F3) of the competition.

NOTE:
During the preliminaries, the semi-final and the final, all the candidates must show their
ability to sing in at least three languages.

The repetition of a previously performed piece will not be accepted.

The titles of the single pieces to be performed in the three stages of the competition shall be listed on the enrolment form which must also show details of the Composer and Opus Number (key
transpositions are allowed only for Lied and international Chamber vocal music).

The programme cannot be modified once the candidate has been accepted by the
Competition Artistic Direction.

* Taken from repertoire between 17th-20th cent.
** Oratorio, Mass, Requiem or Cantata taken from repertoire between 17th – 20th cent.
*** Concert air taken from classical repertoire or with orchestra accompaniment
**** Taken from international repertoire (Canzone, Song, Chanson) between 18th-20th cent. in the main languages (Italian, German, French, English, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese). To be able to provide an adequate evaluation, no popular compositions are allowed without piano accompaniment and non-European languages. Any exceptions shall be evaluated by the Artistic Direction.
